Every time we play, we have the opportunity to create something unusual, dramatic, or unique.
— G. A. Parra
  • This classical style guitar is constructed from the finest close grained spruce for the soundboard and beautiful bookmatched Granadillo for the back and sides. Rooted in the inspiration provided by the great makers of the past but with a modern perspective, this guitar is built with seven fan bracing consistent with Hauser guitars of the mid-20th century. Fully handmade by one person with a minimal amount of power tools, the instrument is built in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. As often as possible, I use salvaged old growth or sinker wood, which I believe provides the finest, oldest, and most interesting wood available while being mindful of environmental impact.

The sound is bold, clearly pronounced, and responsive to the touch with a nice vibrato and focused projection. As with all instruments I build, my objective is to create well-balanced sound across all strings and across the length of the fretboard. Having only been strung up for a couple of weeks and already sounding great, it’s likely to gain a sweet and lyrical tone over time.

The finish of Royal-Lac French polish allows the soundboard to resonate with freedom while the propriety formula contains resins to provide greater protection than traditional shellac, producing a harmonically rich and complex tone with better resistance to wear from the player.

The instrument is priced as a great value for the guitar aficionado or student ready to step up from production line instruments or factory made guitars from Asia while still being mindful of budget. Although built with intention as a classical guitar, its lively energy would make it a great folk music and picking guitar.
