If there is one piece of music that has returned to my stand over and over again through the years, it's Suite del Plata No. 1 by Maximo Diego Pujol. Rooted in tango but infused with concepts that remind me of Roland Dyens and Leo Brouwer, it's filled with challenging rhythms and approachable lyricism.
